TAKENINAKE is proud to present yasumiyasumi's genre-defining first album, groovy nihon summer! originally released late 2012, this explosive fast paced chiptune project erupting from Barcelona gets its first physical reissue coupled with the You EP to celebrate their 10th year of activity; 10 years of manic high-tuned melodies not far from metal angsty violence though leaning instead towards the high-fructose cocktail of japanese niche genres such as dempa or picopop plus a sense of melancholy typically found in shoegaze. placing itself at a crossroads between all these and more, yasumiyasumi published two albums with legendary californian label Zoom Lens: 2013's Tokyo Digital Love and 2017's Tokyo Dreampop, and is undoubtedly one of the most underrated wizard in its field. i'm also thrilled to be able to share this release with new original artwork inspired by the original cover, and really hope lotsa people are gonna dig this!
