Originally released 10 years ago on the internet as a kinda joke by then young musician Víctor Arce, Metapodestroyer is a one-of-a-kind project, the type of album that's usually more fantasized than realized. A concept album about a Metapod going full berserk due to a glitch, then proceeding to rampage the Kanto region while obliterating some otherwise unbeatable foes such as Gyarados or even Missingno. This project actually goes much further than you'd first expect, incorporating a wild variety of styles and genres: angsty guitar riffs, gnarly breakbeats, weird ambient gaps and clever use of the Pokémon anime's english dub samples. An enjoyable and memorable banger that also manages to work up the nostalgia meters while not overly relying on the original games' soundtrack, instead delivering a personal and very fun vision of the Pokémon world, telling the true forgotten legend of the Metapodestroyer.
